    The Indus Training and Research Institute (ITARI) was setup in 2009. The overall aim of the Institute remains unchanged – to train pre-service teachers in international education to meet the demands of the innovation economy. Every year about 75-100 students graduate with a Post Graduate Diploma (PGDIE) in International Education. This postgraduate diploma is accredited by the Birmingham City University.  In addition, ITARI also conducts a Master Degree in Education from the Birmingham City University. Of these, the best are selected for Indus schools. To give you an idea of the scale, nearly 50 % teachers in Indus Bangalore are ITARI graduates.

    With the addition of Indus Altum International School in Belagavi, and 10 X International School, four key initiatives have been launched recently.

    1. The capacity of the PGDIE course is being increased to 150-175.
    2. Five research scholars have been selected to conduct research in various topical areas of future education.
    3. Three Centers of Excellence have been set up in ITARI – Accelerated Learning, Learning Design, and Future Education Research.
    4. A Metaverse Lab for Extended Reality and Game-based Learning is being set up in ITARI. The Lab will do action-research in how metaverse technologies can benefit K12 education.
